Day Trip To Lake Nakuru National Park

Lake Nakuru National Park is a protected area located in the Great Rift Valley of Kenya. The park covers an area of 188 square kilometers and is known for its stunning scenery, abundant wildlife, and the vast numbers of flamingos that flock to its shores.

The park was established in 1961 and was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2011. It is home to a diverse array of wildlife, including over 450 species of birds, such as pelicans, cormorants, and storks, as well as large mammals like lions, leopards, and buffalos. Additionally, the park is a sanctuary for endangered species like Rothschild’s giraffe and black rhino.

The main feature of the park is Lake Nakuru, a shallow alkaline lake that is famous for the millions of pink flamingos that inhabit its shores. However, the park also has a variety of habitats, including acacia woodlands, grasslands, and rocky cliffs, which provide a home for a wide range of flora and fauna.

Day by Day Tour Itinerary

0600hrs departs in the early morning from your hotel to the Escarpment to the floor of the Great Rift Valley in to Lake Nakuru National Park. On the way have a chance to view great rift valley to take pictures before proceeding.

On arrival, we start game viewing within the park where you will go around the lake shore. Lake Nakuru Lake Nakuru National park is renowned for its variety of birds, also is home to white and black Rhino, buffaloes, occasional leopard.

You may get out of the vehicle to get closer look at the birds and baboons at the cliff which offers great sightings to animals. Return to Nairobi late afternoon. Drop off at your hotel or airport.
